IAT WORLD Patent Law Firm is a patent law firm of a total of 29 employees including 9Japanese patent attorneys with three offices in Tokyo, Nagano and Shanghai.
We have consulted and represented over 200 domestic and foreign clients regarding intellectual property. "IAT" stands for "Information and Technology" while at the samet time "IAT WORLD" represents our vision that each stuff member, that is to say "I", cna be active in the world.
Watanabe & Associates Internation, the predecessor firm, was founded in 1995 by Hideharu Watanabe, who is a current partner of IAT WORLD Patent Law Firm and used to work at the intellectual property department in Snkyo Seiki Mfg, Co. Ltd. as a manager.
In 1997, Hiroshi Hasegawa, who is an advisor attorney of IAT WORLD Patent Law Firm, joined Watanabe & Associates Internationl.
The firm name was changed to Watanabe Hasegawa & Associates International in 2000, and eventually changed to IAT WORLD Patent Law Firm in 2002.
Nagano Chino Branch Office was established in Nagano prefecture in 2003, and Shanghai Branch Office was established in 2004.
